EQUALITY

If the solution or resolution to the existence of “inequality” is to seek equality, let’s see what there is to work with.

We have the imperfect ECONOMY operating through millions of economic actors and markets producing and selling goods/services and buying and consuming goods/services thereby exchanging value of about twenty-one trillion dollars of Gross Domestic Product each year.

We have imperfect CAPITALISM owning the means of production and providing the structure, financing, and management of the ECONOMY while having certain resulting and inherent incompatibilities of outcomes with DEMOCRACY.

We have imperfect GOVERNMENT spending about five trillion dollars each year providing oversight, regulation and institutional guidance to CAPITALISM and mitigating or addressing the incompatibilities therewith as well as promoting the general welfare of SOCIETY and providing for the common defense.

We have imperfect DEMOCRACY framing the laws, structure and policies of GOVERNMENT and self rule, alert to the results of the processes in order to address changes or challenges and issues of unfairness within SOCIETY.

We have imperfect SOCIETY comprised of the imperfect human element with varied needs, experiences and hopes each acting in their own best interest (or not) and just trying to make it through the night to survive or thrive again for another day.
